Hello,
We split up our long drive home from Florida by stopping to see my sister's new home near Sunset Beach, North Carolina. While we were there for two nights we were able to visit the Sunset Beach and the Vereen Nature Park in Little River, NC.
The first two mosaic's are images of Sunset beach, North Carolina.
Top left photo is one of the turtle nest on the beach, fishing pier, pretty clouds and sky shots.
A group of Brown Pelican flying by.
The next two mosaics were from our visit to the Sunset Beach and the Vereen Nature & Memorial Park located in Little River, North Carolina. I found a cute Sea Turtle sand sculpture and a Sanderling on the beach.
Jet skis on the Little River.
While walking on the Vereen boardwalk trail we saw the Wood Stock, Great Egrets, Great Blue Heron and lots of Fiddler Crabs.
Some scenes from our walk on the trail at the nature park.
We happened to see this Wood Stork below fly in and land in a tree.
I hope you enjoyed my post and photos. Thanks for visiting and as always thank you for the nice comments. Have a great day and new week ahead!
Here is my list of memes for the week, I hope you can check one or some of these fun memes and the participants post.

ReplyDeleteWonderful photos, Eileen! Here we can only dream of fabulous beaches like that.
ReplyDeleteI too like very much the stork photo, but perhaps more because of that gorgeous pine, the bird has such a particular, prehistoric look... :)

This post makes me yearn for some beach time..Great shots of the Stork and the Pelican..Have a great week..
ReplyDeleteHI, As you know, we love that area of North Carolina... We stay at Ocean Isle --but visit Sunset Beach often when we are there... There's a little park in Sunset Beach which we found this past May ---and we loved it. There is a neat restaurant there also (just before you go across the bridge to the beach)....
ReplyDeleteBet your sister and hubby love it there... I love to visit the beach --but still prefer living in the mountains fulltime.
Hugs,
Betsy
A lovely post Eileen. All those blue skies, white sand and birds just make me long to sit ona beach and listen to the waves caressing the sand. See what you've done? No need to ask if you enjoyed Florida is there?

Hi Eileen,
ReplyDeleteI thoroughly enjoyed your post! My in-laws have a house at Oak Island, NC, which is about 40 minutes from Sunset Beach. We've driven through Sunset Beach many times on our way to eat seafood in Calabash, NC. I've always thought Sunset Beach was a beautiful area. I've also been to Little River many times, as well.
You captured some wonderful wildlife and nature shots, as you always do. I love the Blue Heron and the Stork -- wow!! What part of Florida did you visit?
Visiting from Mosaic Monday -- have a great week!
Hugs,
Denise

Hi Ellen!

ReplyDeleteWhen I first visited Florida many, many years ago Wood Storks were very common in many locations - not so much any more, I am afraid.
ReplyDeleteThe scenery is fantastic! The sand in the first photo collage looks so very inviting. I'd like to run my feet through there ;-) Have a great week Eileen!
ReplyDeleteI am hooked on any of the HGTV shows set in the Carolinas - I love the beaches and the houses built up high to avoid the high water from hurricanes. Your shots are gorgeous!

Your sunny beach photos have me longing to go and enjoy the day at the sea. But it's rather cloudy here and not very warm, so I'll just look at your photos. The Woodstock is a striking fellow, isn't he?
ReplyDeleteLovely shots, Eileen.
ReplyDeleteThose sea oats in your top mosaic bring back memories of childhood trips to Jekyll Island.
~
Oh I love these Eileen, great photos!
ReplyDeletegorgeous shots, Eileen. lovely calming too. we just got back from Camp Lookout, MD. we camped there 2 nights. wow wee were the mosquitoes nuts. sadly would could not even kayak out ... they were just that nuts. even in the showers/restrooms eating you alive. it was wild. we never been to a state park that bad. it was so frustrating. we did go bike riding and a quick hike to the old fort ruins but it was slapping ourselves silly. gorgeous sunsets and sunrises though. have a fabulous week!! take care. ( :
